2026-10-13

The Export-Import Bank of China (China EximBank) extended nearly 1 trillion yuan ($149 billion) in new loans to the foreign trade sector in the first three quarters of this year, up 9 percent year-on-year. Nearly 40 percent of the lending went toward supporting foreign trade businesses and stabilizing the sector’s industrial chains.

The bank has stepped up efforts to improve the quality and efficiency of foreign trade, focusing on its core mandate as a policy bank in line with decisions and plans of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council.

The bank has drawn up and implemented a work plan to keep foreign trade stable, coordinating support for trade in goods and services, as well as traditional trade and new business forms and models, while promoting digital and green trade.

To meet the evolving needs of Chinese companies expanding overseas, it offers a full range of services, including cross-border settlement, trade finance and supply chain finance, helping businesses expand steadily into international markets.

The bank has also increased financing support for major signature projects and "small and beautiful" livelihood projects in countries and regions participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. It is also working to increase the share of renminbi use in bilateral trade, investment and financing to deepen trade and investment cooperation.

Meanwhile, the bank is expanding its range of financial services for micro and small enterprises and exploring online services for those engaged in cross-border e-commerce. These efforts aim to help smaller foreign trade businesses tap new markets and bolster confidence.
