On December 27, Zhang Wencai, Vice President of the Export-Import Bank of China met online with Kabir Jurazoda, Director of Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Institute, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, Vice President Zhang Wencai acknowledged the important role of CAREC Institute as an intergovernmental organization in Central Asia and the crucial contributions it has made to facilitating knowledge sharing, regional integration and sustainable development in the region. He emphasized that China Eximbank is dedicated to supporting China’s foreign trade and international economic cooperation, and shares the same vision with CAREC Institute in helping developing countries in the region pursue self-reliant and sustainable development. He suggested that the two sides take the signing of the MOU as an opportunity to further leverage complementary strengths, deepen partnership and promote the sharing of know-how.
Director Kabir Jurazoda said that China Eximbank is an important partner of CAREC Institute. The signing of the MOU will set a milestone for the two sides to enhance knowledge sharing in key areas and to jointly promote regional economic development and social prosperity.
According to the MOU, the two sides will focus their efforts on key areas of regional integration, high-quality infrastructure and green finance, deepen cooperation in fields of knowledge sharing and capacity building, and pushed ahead with joint research as well as the sharing of research results, in a bid to inject new impetus to regional economic cooperation.
Responsible persons of relevant departments from both sides attended the signing ceremony.
