2021-04-14

The vocational education centers financed by China Eximbank was unveiled in Libreville, capital of Gabon. Gabonese President Ali Bongo Ondimba, Prime Minister Rose Christiane Ossouka Raponda and Hu Changchun, Chinese Ambassador to Gabon attended the ceremony.

The project includes the building of three vocational education centers in the capital Libreville, Port-Gentil, the economic center and Franceville, and the provision of supporting equipment and teacher training services. As a showcase of the high-level cooperation between China and Gabon, the centers have become the only large-scale modern-standard vocational education and training facility in Central Africa. With a mode combining training with manufacturing, the centers set up specialities including machining, welding and engineering machinery. The project aims to provide training opportunities for Gabonese youth, help them upgrade their skills to find jobs and move up the career ladder, and support the diversified development of Gabon's economy.

Since 1990s, by providing support for Gabon's development in transportation, electricity, forest product processing, fishery, pharmacy and other fields, China Eximbank has made constant efforts to boost bilateral economic cooperation and trade. Going forward, the Bank will continue to give full play to its advantages in providing financial services, further implement the eight major initiatives on China-Africa cooperation, and help build a more closely connected China-Africa community with a shared future.
