On 28 January, the Party Committee of China Eximbank decided to donate RMB5 million to Hubei Charity Federation to support Hubei Province in fighting the pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus.

　　Bearing in mind that everyone should “go where there is epidemic, fight it till it perishes”, the Party Committee of China Eximbank made epidemic prevention and control a high priority since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, and special meetings were held to implement the decisions and plans made by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. Party Secretary and Chairman Hu Xiaolian demanded bankwide arrangements for epidemic prevention and control, requiring the Bank to take the battle against the epidemic as the major political task at hand and spare no effort to carry out relevant work.

　　In the face of the epidemic, China Eximbank took immediate actions and set up a leading group for epidemic prevention and control. The Bank issued the Notice on the Prevention and Control of Novel Coronavirus, requiring prompt bankwide response to the epidemic, urging the whole bank to fully ensure the stable operation of basic financial services and key infrastructure facilities, to further strengthen financial support for the epidemic-stricken regions and key areas related to people’s livelihood, and to deliver proactive financial services to the enterprises hard hit by the epidemic. Meanwhile, the Bank pledged itself to make specific response to special and urgent cases, and bring the function of the Bank into full play by providing financial services of high quality and efficiency, and of improved convenience and accessibility.

　　Up till now, the Bank’s Hubei Branch has delivered loans amounting to RMB690 million and efficient settlement services to key medical and pharmaceutical enterprises in Hubei Province. By supporting enterprises with material purchasing and the production and supply of medicines in the fight against the epidemic, the Bank has contributed its part to the prevention and control of the epidemic and the building of a strong line of defense in Hubei Province.

　　In times of difficulty, it is particularly important to unite as one to overcome the difficulties together. Looking ahead, China Eximbank will act under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee and continue to unswervingly implement the decisions and arrangements made by the CPC Central Committee. By strictly fulfilling its due responsibilities, the Bank will make concerted efforts to win the battle against the epidemic.
