Chairman Hu Xiaolian Met with Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Olavo Correia of the Republic of Cape Verde

  Chairman Hu Xiaolian held talks with Olavo Correia, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister of the Republic of Cape Verde in Beijing on 25 June. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening future cooperation. 

    

  H.E.Deputy Prime Minister Olavo Correia said that Cape Verde has maintained good relations with China and responded actively to China’s Belt and Road Initiative. Cape Verde is willing to strengthen economic cooperation and trade with China and further cooperation in such areas as marine economy, port construction, high-tech industry and tourism. Going forward, Cape Verde wishes to explore with the Bank more diversified financing models including private investment.  

    

  Chairman Hu Xiaolian said that China Eximbank has financed a host of projects in Cape Verde, which have greatly promoted local economic and social development. Looking ahead, China Eximbank is ready to enhance cooperation with Cape Verde in the field of marine economy, explore more diversified financing models and actively support Chinese enterprises in making investment in Cape Verde, so as to make further contribution to its economic and social development.
