Speaking on the occasion, President Sall said that he was very glad to meet with Chairman Hu Xiaolian, and thanked China Eximbank, which was an important partner of Senegal, for supporting the social and economic development of his country. He further pointed out that Senegal had witnessed rapid economic growth in recent years and attached importance to debt management, and was thus a responsible and reliable partner. In the future, Senegal would like to strengthen communication and exchanges with China Eximbank and further seek new progress in bilateral cooperation. 

Chairman Hu Xiaolian said that she was honored to meet with His Excellency during his visit to China for attending the 2018 Beijing Summit of FOCAC. She said that China Eximbank placed high importance on cooperation with Senegal, and had actively supported the country’s economic and social development. She said that many projects financed by China Eximbank had yielded positive outcomes. Going forward, she hoped that both sides could work together to properly implement the projects under construction so that they could yield expected benefits. Moreover, she stressed that both sides should pay attention to the alignment of relevant projects with the national economic development strategy of Senegal while discussing cooperation in new projects. She also reaffirmed China Eximbank’s commitment to further cooperation and sustainable growth of Senegal. Lastly, she wished the country greater social and economic achievements under the leadership of President Sall.
