Chairman Hu Xiaolian Held Talks with President Patrice Talon of Benin

Chairman Hu Xiaolian held talks with Patrice Talon, President of Benin on the afternoon of 31 August in Beijing. Both sides exchanged views on the status of overall cooperation and key projects. 

Speaking on the occasion, President Talon said that Benin highly valued the long-term cooperative relationship with China Eximbank, and regarded it as its top-priority partner. He said that the country demonstrated dynamic and vigorous economic growth, and boasted rich tourism and cultural resources. The government of Benin attached great importance to governance and debt management, and hoped to further cooperation with China Eximbank and lift bilateral cooperation to a higher level. 

Chairman Hu Xiaolian said that she was honored to meet His Excellency the President during his visit to China for attending the 2018 Beijing Summit of FOCAC. She said that China Eximbank actively supported the social and economic development of Benin and thus participated in multiple projects in the areas of communication, power, roads, and water supply.    

Going forward, she hoped that both sides could strengthen communication and ensure that the projects under construction yield expected benefits. China Eximbank was willing to step up cooperation with Benin, properly select new projects, and make reasonable financing plans to make greater contribution to the economic and social development of the country, the Chairman concluded. 

Chinese Ambassador to Benin Peng Jingtao also participated in the talks.
