Chairman Hu Xiaolian held talks with Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, President of Burkina Faso on the morning of August 31. Both sides exchanged views on future cooperation.
Speaking on the occasion, President Kaboré said that the resumption of diplomatic ties was of great significance to his country. Given China Eximbank’s wide-ranging and influential business in Africa, he thanked the Bank for its active stance and willingness to support the development of Burkina Faso. He said that he was looking forward to discussions on cooperation with China Eximbank in the areas of agriculture, IT application, and infrastructure development to jointly facilitate the industrialization of his country.
Chairman Hu Xiaolian said that the resumption of diplomatic ties laid a solid foundation for future trade and economic cooperation between China and Burkina Faso, hence generating a far-reaching influence. China Eximbank placed high importance on President Kaboré state visit to China for attending the 2018 Beijing Summit of FOCAC at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. Under the government’s guidance, China Eximbank would carry out effective cooperation with Burkina Faso as early as possible. China Eximbank was ready to make joint efforts with Burkina Faso, select quality projects of cooperation based on local realities and development needs, facilitate the industrialization of the country, and contribute to its sustainable social and economic development.
