During the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang’s official visit to Japan for the 7th China-Japan-ROK Leaders Meeting, Hu Xiaolian, Chairman of China Eximbank signed the Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement Covering the Belt and Road Initiative with Mizuho Bank, Ltd. on May 10.
Pursuant to the agreement, both sides will carry out cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and in third-party markets through mutual credit grants, and by means of co-financing, guarantee, settlement, trade finance and treasury business cooperation. The scope of cooperation covers complete sets of equipment, high-tech products, contracting projects, energy saving and environmental protection, infrastructure, financial technology, and artificial intelligence. It also involves addressing aging-related social issues through financial means.
The Bank has long maintained good cooperative relations with Mizuho Bank. Both sides have carried out all-round cooperation in the areas of syndicated loans, treasury business, and trade finance. The two banks also created the China-Japan Energy-saving and Environmental Protection Investment Fund together with other investors. The signing of the agreement has shown the endeavor of both parties to conduct practical cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, and make positive contribution to mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
